Your Air Waybill

Completing an accurate Air Waybill (AWB) is the best way to ensure that your goods arrive at their destinations, when you expect them to arrive. It is your contract of carriage and the instructions for shipping. Learn more about the agreement between yourself and Canadian North in our Rates & Tariffs section .

The two fields that are most commonly left blank are:

SERVICE REQUIRED – This is where you choose the type of service required (Priority, Standard, or Economy (Service Products Available) or record that Specialized Care is required.

SIGNATURE – Serving as an agreement between the shipper and Canadian North Cargo, this is mandatory.

The Shipper Information (the
person/company sending the shipment)
required includes Shipper's Name/ Company,
Shipper's name, complete address, phone
number, and email address if applicable. It is
required to add a postal code if ground
delivery is required.

Service Required – The level of service required must be checked. Learn more in the Service Products Available section. This tells the Cargo team how quickly you’d like your package to arrive or if Specialized Care is required.

Method of payment – Prepaid or Collect. If paying by credit card, only list the card type, do not write the credit card number on the Air Waybill.

Consignee Information (the Person/ Company receiving the shipment) required includes Consignee’s Name/Company, Consignee’s name, complete address, phone number, and email address if applicable. It is required to add a postal code if ground delivery is required.

Declared Value – You have the option of providing a declared value for your shipment in order to receive a higher level of insurance against loss or damage. If no declared value is provided, Canadian North’s liability for damage or loss will be limited to $1.10 / KG. See Rates and Tariffs for detailed information and Special & Oversized Goods for information on declaring value for special goods. If the package has no declared value, check the box no and initial declining the insurance. If yes, enter the amount of the declared value.
